Here are some photos from our recent trip to Germany. We spent New Years Eve in Berlin and partied at a few different places. View from the rooftop at Weekend Club near Alexanderplatz. Weekend is a dark and loud late night electro club located on the 13th and 15th floors of a high rise building. At midnight the rooftop deck was opened to view the fireworks, since fireworks are legal in Germany for New Years, and the entire city was setting them off.

This is a picture of a German Bierhaus in Alexanderplatz – full of big beer mugs, German Schlager Music, and drunkards of all ages.

Picture of the Brandenburg Tor, in Berlin, where 2 million people went to celebrate Sylvester (New Year’s Eve in German). The street party was already so full that they stopped letting people in at 7:30 pm, although those that got to attend saw numerous musical performances while sipping Gluhwein and freezing their butts off.

The next morning we went out to take a walking tour of the Berlin wall. This car outside our rental flat had been set on fire by a firework and was completely melted. The streets were entirely filled with trash and burnt-out firework cases.
